Okay, hereās day two.
Today's Movie //Ā Streaming on NetflixThe Witch
A New England Folktale. The Witch follows a Puritan family in the 1630s who are exiled from their settlement for defying the church. However, just on the edge of their farm is a forest that conceals horrors worse than they could ever imagine. (Trailer)

Why you should watch it: The Witch is the worst kind of horror. It isnāt afraid to ratchet up the tension to an almost unbearable degree and then not give you release. Itās more interested in getting under your skin rather than shocking you āĀ although it does plenty of that.
Robert Eggersā recreation of 17th century New England is unreal. The dialogue in paricular ā written in Early Modern English ā is most impressive. The atmosphere, full of dread and darkness, is reminiscent of The Exorcist or Rosemaryās Baby. I wouldnāt be surprised if we count The Witch among their ranks in the future.

Trailers you should watchBlack Widow
Black Widow follows Natasha Romanoffās (Scarlett Johansson) adventures between the events of Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War, including a dive into her mysterious past.
My take: Itās interesting that this is the first MCU movie we get in nearly a year because it looks unlike most of them except for maybe Captain America: The Winter Soldier (one of the best). This is a really solid trailer. Tonally it looks closer to an espionage thriller than a superhero film. Plus, Florence Pugh and Rachel Weisz can never really go wrong. Iām looking forward to it.
šŗIn theaters nationwide on May 1, 2020.
No Time to Die
James Bond (Daniel Craig) has retired from MI6. However, when a new villain (Rami Malek) arises armed with a dangerous never-before-seen weapon, 007 is set on his trail.
My take: The Craig-era of Bond has seemingly alternated in quality. Casino Royale and Skyfall were great while the movies in between were forgettable (what were they even called?). That bodes well for this one. But also, this is a great trailer. The cinematography by La La Land DP Linus Sandgren looks like a worthy successor to Roger Deakinsā work in Skyfall. Lashana Lynch (Captain Marvel) and Ana de Armas (Blade Runner 2049 & Knives Out) are the standouts for me.
