❤️ Happy Thursday!

Since tomorrow is Valentine’s Day, today’s recommendation is Hang the DJ a romantic episode of dystopian sci-fi anthology Black Mirror. I promise this one isn’t sad — only a little.

If you’re new here, welcome! Don’t forget to subscribe:

Here’s what it’s about: “The system” is a community where a Siri-like AI pairs potential matches for a certain amount of time to gather data to help them find the perfect match. Amy (Georgina Campbell) and Frank (Joe Cole) find themselves matched for just 12-hours. However, the encounter sticks with them and makes them question whether “the system” is flawed. [Trailer]

Why you should watch it: What makes Black Mirror so compelling is its commitment to staying within the realm of reality, even when its stories could get a little out of hand. Hang the DJ is a perfect example of a story that feels within reach. Dating and connection are moving online more and more, so a story about a dating system that takes over your life isn’t quite far…
